Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Hello! I'm Bruna, a life, career and leadership coach.

Your privacy matters to me. Whether you're browsing my website, signing up for my emails or working with me as a coaching client, I want you to feel confident about how your personal information is handled.

This policy explains what information I collect, why I collect it, how I look after it and the choices you have.

1. Who I am

This website, brunaali.com, is operated by Bruna Ali, a sole trader whose business is established in the United Kingdom.

I am responsible for deciding how personal information collected through my business is used. In data protection terms, this makes me the data controller.

If you have any questions about this policy or your personal information, you can contact me at:

Bruna Ali
Email: bruna@brunaali.com

2. What information I collect

Depending on how you interact with me, I may collect:

  • Contact information: Your name, email address and any other contact details you choose to share.
  • Newsletter information: Your subscription preferences and information about your interactions with my emails, where tracking is enabled.
  • Booking information: Details you provide when scheduling a call through Calendly.
  • Coaching information: Information shared in questionnaires, coaching sessions, reflections, exercises and correspondence, together with any coaching notes I keep.
  • Payment information: Information necessary to arrange payments, issue invoices and maintain financial records.
  • Website information: Technical information collected when you visit my website, which may include your IP address, browser information and cookie data.

Some coaching conversations may involve sensitive personal information, such as information about your physical or mental health. Where I collect or record this type of information, I take particular care with it.

3. How and why I use your information

I use personal information for the following purposes:

To respond to enquiries and arrange calls

If you contact me or book an introductory conversation, I use your information to respond, arrange our meeting and discuss whether coaching could be right for you.

The lawful basis is generally my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries or taking steps towards a coaching agreement at your request.

To provide coaching services

If we work together, I use relevant information to prepare for sessions, tailor our work, maintain coaching records, communicate with you and provide the services we've agreed.

The lawful basis is generally the performance of our contract or taking steps towards entering one.

Where coaching records contain special category information, such as health information, I will only process that information where an additional lawful condition applies, such as explicit consent where appropriate.

To send my newsletter

If you subscribe to my emails, I'll use your name and email address to send reflections, insights, resources and occasional updates about my coaching services.

I rely on your consent for this.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of my emails or by contacting me directly.

To manage payments and business records

I use relevant information to process payments, manage invoices, maintain accounting records and meet my legal obligations.

The lawful bases are the performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations.

To operate and improve my website

I may process technical information to keep my website secure, functioning and accessible.

Where optional analytics or tracking technologies are used, I will obtain consent where required by applicable law.

4. The services I use

I use trusted third-party services to help run my business:

  • MailerLite: To host my website, manage newsletter subscriptions and send emails.
  • Calendly: To arrange appointments and introductory calls.
  • Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Meet and Google Drive: To manage communications, hold online coaching sessions and store and share coaching documents.
  • GoCardless: To facilitate payments.

These providers may process personal information on my behalf or, for certain activities, act as independent data controllers under their own privacy policies.

I share only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant service.

I may also share information where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

I do not sell your personal information.

5. Confidentiality and coaching records

Confidentiality is an important part of my coaching practice.

Information you share during coaching is treated with care and discretion. I keep coaching notes and client records to support our work together.

As part of our coaching journey, I may keep session notes, reflections, exercises and other coaching materials in a dedicated Google Drive folder shared with you.

You'll have access to these materials throughout our coaching journey and for six months after our final coaching session, giving you time to revisit your insights, reflect on your progress and download any documents you'd like to keep.

After this six-month period, the shared coaching folder and its contents will be deleted.

Certain information, such as invoices, payment records or other records I'm legally required to retain, may be kept for longer in accordance with applicable legal and accounting requirements.

I take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, loss or misuse.

There may be circumstances where disclosure is legally required or otherwise permitted under applicable law. Any relevant confidentiality arrangements will also be explained in our coaching agreement.

I will not publish your personal coaching story or identifiable testimonial without appropriate permission.

6. How long I keep your information

I keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including applicable legal, accounting and record-keeping requirements.

My retention arrangements are:

  • Coaching session notes and shared documents: For six months after our final coaching session, after which the shared folder and its contents are deleted.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: Until you unsubscribe or your information is otherwise removed under my retention practices. I may retain limited suppression information to respect unsubscribe requests.
  • Enquiries and introductory bookings: Personal information relating to enquiries and introductory calls is retained for three months after the last interaction, unless you become a coaching client or there is another lawful reason to retain it.
  • Invoices and financial records: For the period required by applicable tax and accounting law.

When information is no longer needed, I delete it securely or anonymise it where appropriate.

7. Cookies and website analytics

My website is hosted using MailerLite and may use cookies or similar technologies to support website functionality.

Some cookies are necessary for a website to function. Others may be used for analytics or tracking.

Where consent is legally required for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, these will not be activated before the appropriate consent has been obtained.

You can also manage certain cookies through your browser settings.

8. International data transfers

Some of the technology services I use operate internationally. This means personal information may be processed or stored outside the United Kingdom.

Where international data protection rules apply, I take appropriate steps to ensure that personal information is handled in accordance with those requirements, including checking the relevant providers' data protection arrangements and using appropriate transfer safeguards where required.

9. Your privacy rights

Under applicable data protection law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information I hold about you.
  • Ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Ask me to restrict how certain information is used.
  • Object to certain types of processing.
  • Request transfer of your information where the right to data portability applies.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time where processing relies on consent.

These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions.

To exercise any of your rights, please email bruna@brunaali.com.

If you have concerns about how your information is handled, I'd welcome the opportunity to address them.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):

Where EU data protection law applies, you may also have the right to complain to the relevant EU supervisory authority.

10. Providing your information

You don't have to subscribe to my newsletter or provide information simply to browse my website, other than information that may be collected automatically through necessary website technologies.

However, some personal information is necessary if you'd like to book a call, receive my emails or work with me as a coaching client.

Without that information, I may not be able to provide the relevant service.

11. Automated decision-making

I do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.

[CONFIRM THIS STATEMENT BEFORE PUBLICATION.]

12. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in my services, technology or legal requirements.

The latest version will always be available on this website, with the date of the most recent update shown at the top.
